Vinyl enthusiasts and collectors had reason to be cheerful as Johannesburg saw the
launch of the Joburg Record Fair on 20 September 2015.
Audio-Technica was proud to be associated with the Joburg Record Fair in bringing
their products to the fore of South African vinyl enthusiasts the past Sunday, at
Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, Johannesburg.
Featuring vinyl dealers from across South Africa there were thousands of bargains
and collectibles to suit almost every music taste. With over 20,000 records in one
place this event promised to be the perfect environment for treasure hunting and
discovering that prized album you have been searching for. As well as buying, the
record fair also offered the opportunity for guests to value their rare records or
inquire about selling your unwanted vinyl collection.
Not only catering to vinyl junkies the fair also offered CD and DVD dealers for the
more modern music enthusiast as well as a vintage fashion and retro flea market
on the lawns, live music entertainment courtesy of BOOSH and featuring top local
acts including Shortstraw among others, as well as a selection of mouth-watering
street cuisine and a craft beer record bar among other attractions.
Guest DJs at the Record Fair were impressed with the Audio-Technica LP120USB
turntables and Audio-Technica audiophile dynamic headphones provided for their
use; old-school vinyl deejay’ing with high-tech gear.
Originally producers of state-of-the-art phonograph cartridges, Audio-Technica has
been manufacturing high quality turntables and hi-fi headphones for over 40 years
as well as DJ gear to complement their product offering.
