Prosound hosted Electro-Voice’s Markus Schmittinger in Cape Town and Durban this
past week. Schmittinger is responsible for the marketing of Portable Speakers, Mics
and Mixers in Africa, and presented a showcase of “the most powerful family in
portable sound’, namely the EKX, ZLX and ZXa1 systems.

The Fugard Theatre in the historic District Six provided the backdrop for guests
from the MI and audio install industry, as well as local DJs and musicians. All were
impressed with the superb audio quality, high performance, compatibility and
adaptability of EV’s portable range as was observed by Schmittinger in saying: “the
customers attending our shows and the ones we visited seemed to be waiting for
our message and were absolute enthusiastic about the performance of the EV
products.’

Rain did not prevent attendance at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at Howard
College in Durban. The significance of clients experiencing the versatility and clarity
of the speakers being demonstrated was reiterated by Mario Bentley, regional Sales
Manager for EV: “The Electro-Voice portable range meets expectations of every
market segment, different user types and applications, therefore it was important
to show the customers a first-hand account of this in real action.’
