The opening of Beyonce’s new Formation World Tour, in Miami, Florida recently,
presented unique lighting challenges.
The major feature of the set is a huge 140-ton monolith, which acts as both a stage
set and a rotating and an opening and closing set of screens. The monolith closes
down much of the stage space and lighting capability. Among the fixtures used in the
stripped down lighting rig are Robe BMFLs and Martin Professional Atomic strobes.
