TechRig had the good fortune to get up close and personal with the cast of the new hit series – The Musketeers, featured on the BBC Entertainment Channel. The launch of the series was held at the elegant Inanda Club in Sandton, the event co-ordinated by CLA Brand & Event Engineering had a dual purpose – launch to media and customers and to showcase The Musketeers pilot with upfront presentations from the CEO highlighting the new programming for the season. It was an afternoon into evening affair with cleverly themed entertainment food and setting… a cup of Mead anyone?
The venue was transformed into a medieval themed village and the ballroom into a state-of-the-art EPCOT / Amphitheatre styled cinema. To perfectly showcase the presenters, content and the Musketeers, a raked cinema seating was used giving an interesting landscape allowing the audience maximum visual exposure and a sense of intimacy with the guest stars. To truly do the flighting justice a 12 x 2.4 meter curved RP screen with rear projection using 3 Barco x HDFW26K projectors made the viewing spectacular with amazing clarity, quality, and brightness.
The stage was beautifully framed by four ROI LED pillars with larger than life images of the actors interspersed with the BBC Entertainment logos. Lighting included Mac 250 Entour and Wash Mac 700 Wash and Profile Versa LED Ultra High Power 18RGB WAP. To ensure best possible sound Alcon Audio LR14 Sound System and Yamaha LS9 – 32channel mixing console were used. As this was not only a screening but included a presentation showcasing the BBC Entertainment Channels line-up as well as a really interesting Q&A session with the Musketeers lead actors it was necessary to ensure flexibility and a seamless audio and visual delivery.
