DWR Distribution has added a new staircase solution for Prolyte Stage Decks. Inspired by Prolyte, the staircases are manufactured locally by DWR in a 3 Step Module and a 5 Step Module.
The stairs are constructed from weatherproof aluminium, are lightweight and compact to store or transport. The design is aesthetically pleasing and stair treads are constructed from aluminium tread plate for a non-slip surface. The 5 Step Module has a handrail on either side.
“Until now, existing staircases were available in increments of 200mm, ranging from 200 mm to 1 metre,’ explains Keith Pugin, head of manufacturing at DWR. “Because of that you had to have your stage level at the same increments as that. Former stairs were also cumbersome, taking more warehouse and transport space. As there were many parts, assembling stairs was time-consuming and added to that, the old stairs were not weatherproof.’
Pugin and his assistant, Sidney Koen, got their inspiration from Prolyte Adjustable stairs, and have come up with new, fully adjustable staircase suitable for stages ranging from 200 mm up to 2 metres. The 3 Step Module has a range of 200 mm to 500 mm in height, while the 5 Step Module ranges from 600 mm to 1 metre.
“The stairs can be coupled together in any combination using the existing Prolyte CCS6 coupling system, up to a maximum height of 2m’ concludes Pugin.
