For over 30 years Lab.gruppen’s reputation in live sound has been driven by rock solid, innovatively designed and sonically superior products, and none showcase that more than the iconic design of the TEC Award-winning PLM 20000Q.

Tried, tested and loved by engineers on the biggest tours and events on the planet, the 20000Q has become the genesis for the next generation of Powered Loudspeaker Management (PLM).

PLM+ is the brand new touring platform from Lab.gruppen, a platform that offers all of the unique performance characteristics, flexibility, and raw power of the 20000Q, but with twice the processing power, twice the throughput and a whole host of additional features and improvements designed to deliver real world benefits and make the life cycle of any production easier, smoother and more efficient, from the system design stage, operating, through to the final load out.

The PLM+ range offers two models – PLM20k44 and the PLM12k44 – each combining a true 4in / 4out configuration for audio IO as well as four modules of Lake Processing.

By combining enormous power with industry-leading Lake Processing, the PLM 20000Q has been a standard driving force for many speaker brands and rental companies, singularly capable of driving almost any loudspeaker system or array – of any size or configuration. The PLM+ can handle a load that comprises subwoofers, high frequency drivers, full range loudspeakers, and constant voltage distributed systems, or any combination thereof. The new PLM+ platform offers four analog inputs, four AES inputs, four power outputs, four Lake contour modules, 8×8 Dante I/O, two port 1GB network switch, dual redundancy and more, all in all offering a never before seen flexibility without compromise.

PLM+ benefits do not stop there, a up to 16 inputs can be routed to a PLM+ device, allowing audio format conversion from one input type to another, and then delivering these inputs to other devices in the system. Matrixing / summing of inputs can be easily achieved and controlled within the Lake environment, an environment expected by most engineers at front of house or monitors, where using a tablet computer, they can tune, monitor and drive their system.

PLM 12K44 – which is targeted as a successor to the PLM 10000Q – offers a giant leap forward in its power segment with Universal power supply, PFC, 8 x Dante Break in / out, and other hugely significant benefits never before available in tour sound.
The 12k44 model features Lab.gruppen’s Rational Power Management (RPM) technology, first debuted in the company’s recent D Series install platform. A first in live sound, this new feature allows the 12k44 to realise all of the unique performance characteristics of the 20k44 model, a unique feature that could have major implications for a busy rental company.

The addition of the highly innovative RPM technology serves to position Lab.gruppen as a leader in green amplifier technology, with the PLM+ platform a tried, tested and proven Class TD power stage, featuring unique universal power supply (UPS) design for unrivalled power factor correction and low peak mains current draw to power output ratio. This reduces over-specification of mains distribution and critically reduces UPS reliance in mission-critical live sound applications, where the performance must never stop and the equipment must never fail.

In summary, the PLM+ ecosystem offers the end user the ability to specify, control, monitor, interface, network, convert and optimise the system with absolute guarantee and certainty, with the build quality and reliability that comes with every Lab.gruppen device.
