The Ridge Casino, Hotels & Entertainment complex is located just off the N4 toll highway in eMalahleni (Witbank). The SP Dome structure, known as “The Venue’, was designed by In2Structures for the Ridge Casino, and is a multipurpose, semi-permanent structure. Prosound were asked to install a house lighting solution using a selection of ETC’s innovative products.
The ETC Drd Unison rack with 12 x two channel relay modules is used to to power the house lighting system, and the ETC Paradigm processor is the brains of the operation and serves as the control centre of the system.
The ETC wall-mount touchscreen and the Wallmount 5 Button Station were also used in the installation – the touchscreen is fully customisable and allow for faders and buttons to trigger programmed pre-sets or effects, and the Wallmount 5 Button Station allows five buttons to be programmed as per the specs.
Lastly, 52 x Source Four Pars and 26 x Source Four Profiles with on-board dimmers were installed were all fitted with ETC’s on-board dimmers and then linked with DMX for control. This allowed for the incorporation of the existing cleaning lights into the system by only supplying a feed from the Drd rack, allowing total control over everything and for the system to be programmed according to the clients’ specs.
The Ridge Casino opened “The Venue’ on 29 August with popular comedian Trevor Noah’s Nation’wild’ show.
