The doors of the Aula Theatre at the University of Pretoria were recently open again after wide-ranging improvements and building over a period of almost two years.
The re-opening of the Aula theatre, the Rautenbach Hall, the Musaion and the Amphitheatre marks the beginning of a new era in the history of the Aula as the cultural hub on the university’s Hatfield campus.
Prosound provided an I-Light solution to control CDM Fixtures, fluorescent fittings and LED’s for the Rautenbach Hall, Aula Foyer and Aula Tree. A combination of I-Light HF Ballast wall units and I-Light Din Rail Dimmers were supplied. I-Light seven button wall control panels were installed in each of the three areas where area specific scene settings were programmed.
Throughout the contract different types of luminaires were added. It was required that the entire system be controlled by a Creston controller. Prosound managed to counter some initial interface problems between I Light and the Creston by introducing a SI-2 System integrator which communicated via RS 232.
