Over the next two months the Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA) will be hosting a number of programmes aimed enhancing skills within the broadcast market. On 17 and 18 July the association will repeat the Broadcast Technology Workflows course presented in alliance with the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM).
This two day course is aimed at anyone in the Broadcast Technology Industry needing to understand the full breadth of broadcast workflows. The course will:
• Improve delegates knowledge of the concepts, terms and processes used in Broadcast Technology.
• Enable delegates to understand the impact of file-based technology on end-to-end workflows.
• Enable delegates to understand how change in one part of the workflow can impact all others.
• Give delegates the confidence to discuss and analyse workflows effectively.
• Ensure delegates are better equipped for marketing and selling.
On 1and 2 August SACIA will present another IABM course – a repeat of the Audio & Video Fundamentals for Broadcast Engineers course that we ran in February. This course was also a sell-out and is being brought back by popular demand.
This two day course is for engineers and technologists who need to orientate themselves to the specific technologies and applications involved in the generation, movement and monitoring of audio and video signals and files in a broadcast and media technology environment.
It is structured to be suitable as an induction course for newly recruited engineers who need to gain an appreciation of the technical context in broadcasting environments. It will suit those who are involved on the supply side in product or project design and development and also those who are working in support and maintenance of the technical infrastructure at broadcasters and other media enterprises.
