The Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA) will host the course entitled GEN111 Essentials of AV Technology (presented under license from InfoComm) on 20 to 22 May. This 3-day course provides in-depth explanations of the science and technology for basic audio, visual and audio-visual systems integration. A brief overview of the sales, rental/hire, design and installation functions is included in the course content. This course builds the student’s understanding of the fundamentals used on a daily basis in the audio-visual industry. It is also great preparation for the students wanting to earn the InfoComm-recognised AV Technologist certificate.

Speaking last year’s course, Yolanda Tree of Audio Visual Centre said: “Everyone in the AV business – especially newcomers – can benefit from this course as it promotes a broad understanding of the technologies used within the AV industry. It was well-presented, informative and a great forum to learn and share with fellow students. I would highly recommend this course to anyone needing a solid introduction to AV or wanting to brush up on their understanding of the technologies we work with every day.’
