The last week of July saw the MIDAS Pro1 digital audio console being welcomed in four cities around South Africa. Jason Kelly – International Technical Support Manager for MIDAS Consoles – supported by Prosound, hosted a number of exclusive workshops introducing the MIDAS Pro-series digital consoles to both beginners and experienced users.

The week-long tour opened in conjunction with the ProsoundLIVE event “Live@The ProsoundLIVE Room’. Joburg bands, Shadow Club and Cold Water Morning kicked off the evening which introduced the latest additions to the MIDAS Pro-series to music stores and independent band sound engineers.

Joburg set the bar for the seminars, seeing 60 industry guests attending the workshops. Bloemfontein welcomed the MIDAS team for advanced training at the Pacofs Sound Department which has recently purchased two Pro9 and three Pro2 MIDAS Consoles. Industry related seminars followed before setting off to get Durban excited about the Pro-series. Cape Town’s advanced training workshops on the MIDAS Pro9s at Artscape were complimented with further industry seminars before closing off the fantastic and hugely successful week with a final training sessions at Artscape on Saturday.

The Pro3, 6, and 9 MIDAS digital consoles have been hugely successful and now with the recent additions of the Pro2, Pro2C and even more recently the Pro1 – MIDAS is now affordable to an even larger sector of the audio industry.

Kelly was hugely impressed with the response received around the country and stated: “A huge thank you to everyone who attended the MIDAS seminars held around South Africa this week. It been amazing to meet so many great people. The interest in the PRO Series family has been fantastic. PRO1 has gone down very well. 4 cities in 5 days and over 100 people attending! A big thank you to everyone at Prosound for all their hard work and support!’
