Pro-Systems News Africa has signed up as a media partner for the SACIA ELITE Awards being presented in Johannesburg on 7 November 2014.
“The SACIA ELITE Awards are designed to recognise and reward excellence in all aspects of the audio-visual industry. We have a number of categories that are aimed specifically at commercial AV installations and by entering into this media partnership with Pro-Systems News we’re looking to promote the Awards to an audience that extends beyond our core membership,’ explains Kevan Jones, Executive Director of the Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA).
A winning entry will demonstrate an imaginative solution to a real technical, creative or commercial challenge. The most important factor is to demonstrate collaboration between a user and their technology partner or partners.
The winning Award is shared by both the clients and the technology vendors involved in innovating the project. The awards are not product-focussed but reward forward-thinking customers and systems integrators who work together to find innovative solutions to the challenges they face in the market. A simple low-cost system that delivers real value to a customer is just as likely to win as a multi-million Rand development project.
Many of the potential winners have been featured in recent issues of Pro-Systems magazine and Publisher Simon Robinson is enthusiastic about the partnership with SACIA. “Over the last few years we’ve seen SACIA evolve from a start-up body to an established association that widely represents all players within the audio-visual profession,’ he says, “The SACIA ELITE Awards is the next step in their evolution and we’re proud to be associated with the initiative. I want to encourage all our readers who have done such great work over the past year to submit an entry into the relevant category, and have their efforts recognised by industry peers. Winning entries will be featured in future issues of our magazine.’
SACIA is a not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting the adoption of professional standards and ethical business practices in the audio-visual industry across southern Africa. Many of South Africa’s leading suppliers, integrators, designers, consultants and installers are members of the association, as well as a growing number of users from the education, government and commercial sectors.
