Epson, world leader in the projector market , has launched a complete digital solution for business meetings and classrooms. The integrated Epson EB-1410Wi and EB-1400Wi, which combine the benefits of projectors, interactive whiteboards, flipcharts and other presentation equipment into one easy-to-use device, where recently launched at a event held in Johannesburg on 28 February.

The models project a 100-inch interactive image, offer a wide variety of input sources, help businesses and schools increase productivity and cut installation costs by eliminating the need for multiple pieces of meeting room equipment.

The advanced features allow users to turn any surface into a 100-inch interactive screen and make written comments or notes on any projected image from a variety of input sources: computers, office networks, USB memory sticks , visualisers and many other smart devices. With the interactive pens provided, users can interact with computer software in the same way they would with a mouse. Once meetings have finished, notes can be saved and shared to office networks and USB memory sticks2, in addition to being sent to other users by email.

Kelvin Reynolds, general manager of Epson South Africa, says: “These new devices are so much more than just interactive projectors, as they offer a complete digital solution that caters to a wide range of business needs. With one piece of equipment doing the job of the three or four that would have been required before, businesses are able to reduce investment costs on additional equipment and save valuable time in their meetings.’

The projectors can also be connected to Epson’s all-in-one business inkjet printers, such as the WorkForcePro 4500 Series. Users can scan documents directly to the projector and print out meeting notes. The majority of businesses’ existing printer fleets can also be connected for note printing.

The EB-1410Wi and EB-1400Wi also feature a multi-location function. This allows up to four separate projection systems to be connected remotely, so users can share images and presentations, and also comment on the same image remotely.

Reynolds adds: “With the intuitive on-screen menu and user-friendly controls, users require no specific training to make the most of these devices. They can confidently make presentations using the advanced features, knowing they are in complete control.’

The projectors come with a complete interactive package that includes two digital pens, built-in software, a wall mount, an external control pad and a built-in 10W speaker. Quality of the projected image is enhanced even further by Epson’s 3LCD technology, DisplayPort and HDMI Digital for high-definition viewing. The EB-1410Wi and EB-1400Wi are available from March 2013 and RRPs are approximately R24, 403.47 and R26, 597.71 EX VAT.
